El Secreto is a red wine from Viña Mayor winery, is elaborated with 100% Tempranillo grapes under D. O. Ribera del Duero

Viña Mayor winery is located in the so-called "Golden Mile", the most prestigious area of the D.O., Bodegas and Viñedos Viña Mayor brings together the Ribera del Duero's great strengths. A winery with an innovative spirit and a profound respect for the environment (Wineries for Climate Protection WfCP certified)

Almudena Alberca heads up the winemaking team and is part of the current generation of Spanish oenologists with international vision.

Selective harvest, collected in crates of 20 kilos. Selection of fruit by hand on a sorting table. De-stemming and very light crushing, transfer into 8,000 litre stainless steel tanks with refrigerated casings. Maceration for 3-4 days prior to fermentation, and malolactic fermentation in tank at a controlled temperature.

El Secreto is aged and bottled on the property. Aged in French oak barrels of various sizes (250/600 litres) and toast levels, alternating between different cooperages for 10 months, with at least 6 months in bottle.

El Secreto has an intense red colour. A perfumed wine with notes of black and red fruit, combined with notes of aromatic essential oils, delicate spices and violet flowers On the palate it is rounded, juicy and fresh. A long, mineral finish.

Perfect balance in which freshness stands out over oak.
