Afuega´l pitu, means in Asturian "drown the chicken", since in the past, to know if the cheese was just right, gave him to a chicken so that it tested it, if to this cost him swallow it, then the cheese was very done.

Elaborates with milk of cows of race Frisona and Asturian of the valleys.

His flavour is slightly sour, little or at all salty, cremoso and quite dry.
